Я - мерзляк, тому коли відправлявся на Майдан узяв пальто з хутряною підкладкою. Та уже в перший день перебування зрозумів свою помилку - в ньому важко бігати, запарюєшся. Потім, звісно, мерзнеш. Коли готувався сюди приїхати й спостерігав Майдан лише з екрану телевізора, й бачив, що всі протестувальники в якихось легеньких курточках, мимоволі по шкірі пробігав озноб: мороз на дворі. Ні, я вдягнусь якомога тепліше. Не вистачало іще обморозитись! Натягнув термобілизну для лижників, вовняні, грубої в'язки шкарпетки, куплені в Косові, що пролежали років зо два без ужитку. Та лише потрапивши на Майдан, збагнув - тут все по-іншому. Колись чув - на війні не хворіють. Коли атакує беркут температура, здається, градусів сорок. Та й у спокійні хвилини - постійно щось робиш, як на першому таборі в Пласті. Згодом на погоду взагалі не звертаєш уваги. Як і на все інше - жодних болячок, головне кудись пропадає страх, який міцними кліщами не відпускав мене в перший день. Це феноменально - знати, що от зараз може впасти тобі до ніг пляшка з коктейлем молотова, і ти спалахнеш мов смолоскип, що можеш упасти, як от твій побратим поцілений кулею снайпера, але на ламаєш стрій - продовжуєш бій. Не задумуючись наносиш удари у відповідь, навіть не помічаєш, коли вражають тебе. Синці та порізи помічаєш уже після бою, або й узагалі, коли йдеш спати, і стягаєш із себе промоклу одежу... Третій день я тут й лише починаю пізнавати ази майданного життя.
